Philip Barr
Thanks to all for the kind words about my brother. It's very good to know he is remembered by his classmates. One of you mentioned the tennis team. I remember vividly the way he played. Lots of fire, never an ounce of give-up. Nice to think about those times now.
tribute by Adam BarrI was delighted to hear about this month's reunion until I looked through the list and saw all the deceased markers. I knew Phil in Cub Scouts, at Temple, and particularly in senior year homeroom. What a place to befriend someone. Even though we hadn't seen each other since then, I occasionally thought about Phil--always as the kind, caring guy he was. I hate to say "was" about Phil.
tribute by Jack RodneyI met Phil when we played on the tennis team together. What a competitor. We had many a battles on the courts. He was a great guy.
tribute by David DrossmanPhil was so very nice. I'm sad to hear of his passing.
tribute by Ivy ChildsThe one sad thing about periodic reunions is learning of the passing of old friends. Though I have lost touch with most I nevertheless remember the good times. Phil and I were not only classmates at Mt. Lebanon, but we were classmates at Temple Emanuel as well. Phil was a great guy – a warm-hearted friend to all. I will miss him and remember him today, the first day of Passover with the lighting of a Yahrzeit candle.
