I left Mt Lebo (and was moved to FL after my mom died that year) at the end of 7th grade, but always remembered Flynn as one of my fun friends..as the 40th comes up I thought I'd look at the alumni site..  I am so sad to see her  name in the memorials.  so smart, so athletic and good friend for my short time at Mellon..I wish I hadn't lost touch with her..

Flynn was a fantastic next door neighbor, with a great sense of Humor.  She also had great insight into people as well.  I was new to the area when I started high school, and she made me feel welcome and at home.  We had many late nights, sitting in our windows (our houses were that close), she would play the guitar and I would sing Stairway to Heaven and American Pie.  Flynn was a great womens athelete and I was always just in awe watching her. I miss you Flynn see you in Heaven.

I had known Flynn since 4th grade.  She was a terrific person from day one.  Even in elementary school she showed a lot of athletic ability, and several times when I was over at her house she tried to teach me how NOT to 'throw like a girl'.  Whenever I was sick, she was the one to bring homework home for me--not an easy feat as she had to cross Washington Road to get to my house. She also drew these cute cartoon characters in class that made me crack up. Her mom and her sisters were also fun to be around. Flynn was so nice and so smart, I was sorry we never had classes together in Junior or Senior High, but her friendliness and warmth toward me never diminished.  I had heard she was ill for a very long time, and her passing has saddened me greatly.  She was really a gem--I will always remember her.
