Obituary

Charles Ernest McGinnis, Jr. passed away from natural causes on September 19th, 2023. Charles “Chuck” was born in St. Marys, West Virginia and spent his childhood in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania until attending college at the University of Pennsylvania where he played football and graduated from the Wharton School of Business. Chuck spent most of his adulthood in Brick, New Jersey where he raised his 3 sons, Charles (Wesley), Collin, and Glenn. He was an involved member of the Brick Township community where he was a part of Republican Club for many years, coached various sports, and devoted 30 plus years of volunteering to Brick American Baseball League. Chuck worked at I.F.F. for 35 years where he held many different roles and responsibilities - most recently overseeing the merger of Ottens Flavors and Tastepoint in Philadelphia.  He eventually retired to Ocean City, Maryland, where he enjoyed endless sunsets on his deck overlooking Assawoman Bay. He was known for taking beautiful photos and sharing them with his loved ones. Chuck loved to go fishing, especially when his sons could join him and cook the fish they may have caught that day.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father Charles and his Mother Mary. He is survived by his sons Wesley and his wife Brittany, Collin and his wife Ellyn, Glenn and his wife Kelly, his two granddaughters, Hayden and Teegan, ex-wife Donna, and many close friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 7th from 12pm to 3pm at O'Brien's Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road in Brick, New Jersey. A prayer service will take place at 3pm in the funeral home.  Burial services will take place at the I.O.O.F Cemetery  in St. Mary’s West Virginia at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or other memorial gifts the family kindly asks for donations to be made to Brick American Baseball League in his name.
