Timothy Halen 66, of Charleston, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, November 28th, 2022. Tim was born June 29th, 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Richard and Joan Halen.

Tim passed away the day before his 36th wedding anniversary to the love of his life, Mary Margaret. They have two daughters, Maggie and Emily. He was a devoted husband, doting father, and philomath. He instilled a passion for learning in his daughters; he delighted in reading to them every evening when they were children and taking them to Lowe's for crafting class on Saturday mornings. He was endlessly proud of their accomplishments.

Tim always had a joke to share in his wallet-he loved making people laugh. He was not afraid to talk about or wear his opinions on his clothes: shirts, buttons, head scarves, masks. He was a lifelong Steelers fan and lovingly referred to them as the "Squealers" during off years. His famous from scratch lasagna made any occasion special. For years, he fried turkeys on Thanksgiving for friends and family members.

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Richard Montgomery Halen of Pittsburgh, PA and his mother-in-law, Virginia Ann Hager of Charleston. Tim is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret Halen of Charleston, daughter Maggie (Patrick) Wheeler of Charleston, daughter Emily Halen of Charleston, mother Joan Stabile Halen of New Bern, NC, siblings Miriam (Mike) Beckman of New Bern, NC, Richard (Kim) Halen of Budd Lake, NJ, Anne (Steve) Kouri of New Braunfels, TX, Gregory (Jennifer) Halen of Florence, AL, Joanie Halen of Kennesaw, GA, uncle David (Charlotte) Stabile of Pittsburgh, PA, many nieces and nephews, and cats P.J. and Cleo.

Tim did not wish to have a service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made to The West Virginia Democratic Party
