Ron Szabat

Marital status: Married
Children: 1
Occupation: Lifelong Advocate & Leader. Emerging Artist. Attorney Emeritus.
Comment: Sadly, I'll miss our landmark 50th Mt. Lebanon High School Reunion - and seeing all of you - while trekking the Camino de Santiago in Spain with fellow congregants of the Washington National Cathedral. 12 days, 200 km.

Otherwise, retirement from being a healthcare and tax lawyer/lobbyist in 2021 has been great. 40 years since law school was enough. I now swim 30 minutes everyday, take regular art classes, and am active in charitable and philanthropic pursuits. Most recently, I was elected to serve as a board trustee of the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, following an awe-inspiring Holy Land Pilgrimage to Israel and Palestine in summer 2022.

I've also been thrilled to have my paintings grace the cover of the local Montgomery College Community Arts catalogue and appear within. On May 5, I'll be part of a showing at the Bender JCC in Rockville, MD.

In other news, our daughter weds a great guy on April 26 this year in nearby Chevy Chase, MD.

Please let me know if you get to DC and would like to catch up. I still get back to Mt. Lebanon on occasion and remain very loyal to our great hometown and high school.

Have a wonderful reunion and post lots of photos. Put me down to help on our 55th!

Deborah Sze (Sze)

Marital status: Married
Children: 4
Occupation: Serial volunteer
Comment: Living the good life in a little Colorado mountain town, enjoying the very active pickleball, tennis and skiing community. Volunteer work can seem like a near-full time job but very fulfilling and hopefully good for my brain. Traveling extensively with Moz (Antarctica photo from January) and with a group of girlfriends since 2005 (highly recommended!). The pandemic's silver lining was that two of our kids lived with us for several years and although they still wouldn't make their beds, it was wonderful to get to spend time with them as adults. Now two grandkids live in Steamboat and two summer there so we're loving being a regular part of their lives. Yep, life is good!

Lee Taubeneck

Marital status: Single again
Children: 2
Occupation: Non-profit Transit Liaison
Comment: While retired from salaried work, I continue to assist a regional nonprofit PT by placing essential workers/ homeless with ebikes and discount regional transit passes. I also serve on an ELCA church council contributing to our congregational mission. I am a member of the church choir, however my range has sunk and so now a baritone and no longer a tenor. Also a member of the church bell choir carrying 2 cardinal bells and 2 occidentals b/w the treble and bass clefs. he senior social scene here is quite active; I enjoy contra dancing, ballroom dancing, and tai chi (yang style). The climate in Palo Alto is idyllic - even with global warming - and despite my purple thumb it shows in my community garden plot. With the garden adjacent to our local library, I continue to indulge in a pastime of reading and studying languages. Mercifully, my son and daughter live locally, so we stay connected. I look forward to seeing and sharing with everyone in the events of the past fifty years.
