Comment: Hi Everyone! I'm delighted Brian et al. took the initiative to reconnect everyone.  I'm also grateful to the inventors of facebook that helped me reconnect with dear friends. I knew Mt. Lebanon HS was a special place the first semester I was in college! What a fabulous education we got there, and what terrific friends I was lucky to make! We are happily living in the Washington DC beltway, visiting Pgh often to see my ailing parents--if anyone has tips on a good assisted living place for highly eccentric argumentative and fascinating 80-somethings please send me an email.  My son Alex starts at Oberlin in the fall, my daughter Austin will be a junior in high school.  I retired from doing research in tropical diseases in 2002, and now teach biology at a local college--talk about a dream job! All you career teachers out there got it right the first time.  A few of you are going to bug me about all the name changes, but since no one could say or pronounce "Swiecicki" I changed my name to "Fairfield" when I got my PhD. Then, too many people told me they had a dog named 'Sandy' or 'Sasha'--even at professional meetings-- so I just went with 'Alex' as a nickname to bolster my persona. So, no more digs about my name at reunion, OK? (Jeez, there should be a character limit on these postings, don't you think?)

Comment: After 9/11 I traded 24 years of sales/mangement in corporate employee benefits for more meaningful careers. I role-played various illnesses, as did Kramer in Seinfeld, with medical students at Northwestern University and trained employees (unfortunately not the animals) at Shedd Aquarium. Now I inspire learning in human resource development  at Northeastern Illinois University. This gives me time to pursue my passions-traveling, gardening and volunteer work with animals.
